The person who quotes it runs it

Heartland Boston Concrete Company builds, fixes and cuts the concrete that homes and businesses rely on, with our own crew doing the work from the ground underneath to the finished surface.

What's under a slab decides how it holds up, so we dig out and pack the subgrade, the ground the slab sits on, and check where water runs before we pour. It's the part you can't see on day one, and the first thing cut when a budget gets tight.
Your estimate spells out what's included, like hauling away the old concrete, so you can line it up against other bids on equal terms. I want you to know what you're paying for before we start, and I'll explain any line twice if it helps.
I learned this trade beside older finishers who cared more about the prep than the finish, then spent a few years pouring walkways and steps for neighbors on weekends before I went full time. Heartland Boston Concrete Company has been in business since 2017, and we still work the way we did for neighbors, with plain answers and a site left clean.
We're licensed and insured, and every job is satisfaction guaranteed. For work on an existing owner-occupied home with one to four units, Massachusetts requires the contractor to be registered with the state as a home improvement contractor. You can read more about who we are on our about page.
Heartland Boston Concrete Company is based in Boston, MA, and works across the cities around it, including Cambridge and Newton. The 12 cities below each have their own page, but they aren't the only places we work, so call us if yours isn't listed.
Heartland Boston Concrete Company is a concrete contractor in Boston offering 16 services, from new driveways and patios to foundations, footings and cutting. The price mostly turns on the size of the area, how thick the slab needs to be, whether old concrete has to come out and be hauled away, how much base work the ground needs and the finish you pick, since stamped or decorative work takes more time than a broom finish, the light texture that gives you grip. The schedule turns on weather, any permits and curing, the wait while new concrete hardens before you walk or drive on it. Your written estimate gives your own figure and what it includes.
We build new concrete driveways, digging out and packing the base and pitching the slab so water runs away from your house and garage, for homeowners replacing a cracked or sinking one.
Explore service: Concrete driveway buildingWant a patio you can set a table and grill on? We pour concrete patios sized to how you'll use the yard, sloped gently so rain doesn't pool by the back door.
Explore service: Concrete patio constructionStamped concrete is pressed with patterns and color while it's still wet, so a patio, walk or pool deck looks like stone or brick but goes down as one slab.
Explore service: Stamped concrete servicesIf your front walk has heaved or chipped, we pour a new one on a packed base, with control joints, shallow cuts that give cracks a planned place to form.
Explore service: Concrete sidewalk buildingA garage floor carries car weight, road salt and dripping slush all winter, so we pour it thick enough for the load, with rebar, steel inside that keeps cracks from pulling apart.
Explore service: Garage floor concreteDecorative concrete covers colored, textured and patterned finishes for walks, patios and entries, for owners who want something nicer than plain gray without giving up a solid base underneath.
Explore service: Decorative concreteWhen a sloped yard keeps washing out or pushing toward the driveway, a poured concrete retaining wall holds the soil back, with drainage behind it so water doesn't build up pressure.
Explore service: Concrete retaining wallsWe install concrete floors for basements, workshops, sheds and commercial spaces, placing the slab over a packed subgrade and finishing it smooth or textured depending on what the room is for.
Explore service: Concrete floor installationWhat makes a good pool deck? A surface with grip for wet feet, a slope that carries splash water away from the pool, and joints set where cracks should go.
Explore service: Concrete pool decksConcrete steps get used every day, so we form them with even step heights and a broom finish for grip, replacing crumbling front or back steps for homes and small properties.
Explore service: Concrete steps constructionWe build slab foundations for garages, additions and small buildings, pouring one thick slab on a dug-out, packed base so the structure above sits on ground that's ready to carry it.
Explore service: Slab foundation buildingFoundation installation means forming and pouring the concrete walls a house or addition stands on, set on footings and laid out square so the framing goes up true.
Explore service: Foundation installationSmall businesses and apartment owners call us for concrete parking lots, built thicker for cars and delivery trucks and sloped toward drains so puddles don't sit in the spaces.
Explore service: Concrete parking lot buildingFootings are the wide concrete pads under a foundation, deck, porch or addition that spread the weight into the soil, and we dig them deep enough for the ground and the load.
Explore service: Concrete footingsIs a slab or foundation corner sinking, leaving cracks and doors that stick? Foundation raising lifts the settled section back toward level, and we look first at what made the ground give way.
Explore service: Foundation raisingWe saw-cut concrete for new openings, utility trenches and removing damaged sections, leaving a clean, straight edge so the patch or new pour meets the old slab neatly.

You get a free written estimate that spells out what's included. Before anything goes on the schedule, we check with the city about permits your job may need and help with the paperwork, because Boston's Inspectional Services can charge double the permit cost when work starts before a permit is issued.
Our own crew digs out and packs the base, pours and finishes the concrete, and cleans up the site. When it's done, I walk the finished job with you and tell you how long to stay off it while it cures.
